Receipt printers are a major part of POS system. These receipt printers are used to print receipts of customer purchased and slips of credit cards in retail sectors. Many restaurants also use receipt printers to print orders to send it to the kitchen or bar.

Types of receipt printers
There are different kinds of receipt printers like thermal receipt printers, dot matrix receipt printers, inkjet receipt printers, mobile/wireless receipt printers and kiosk receipt printers. 

Thermal receipt printers
Thermal printers are the most common type of receipt printers. They have faster speed and their functioning is quieter than other printers. Printing in thermal printers are done with direct contact between the thermal paper which has a thermal coating which makes it sensitive to hear and thermal head which generates the heat. This is why there is no need for ink or any toner for printing.

Dot matrix receipt printers
For matrix printers are also called as impact printers. They have very less expensive and are a reliable option and the operating cost is also very less. They have tiny pins that are placed on the print heads which has an ink ribbon that produces dots that form letters on paper. They print two colors red and black and are also used to print graphics.

Inkjet receipt printers
Inkjet printers have many print heads like dot matrix printers which shoot many tiny droplets of ink on the paper. They are used to print high-quality things like colors logo, coupons, etc.

Mobile/wireless receipt printers
Mobile or wireless receipt printers are a kind of portable receipt printers. This is highly recommended in many industries due to its mobility. These printers are equipped with Bluetooth, WI-Fi, and USB options which makes it a great choice for any kind of industry.

kiosk receipt printers
Kiosk receipt printers are integrated into a kiosk bases based system of POS which makes it easy to use as there is less time needed for loading and maintaining.
